The classic "Hand on Wall" image shows off the sensitivity of the instrument. This hand print was left on the wall after only seconds of contact. There is no ink or mark on the wall the effect comes from the transfer of infrared energy from the hand to the wall. This demonstration helps to illustrate the nature of the IR technology. We are seeing IR energy not visible light, and as a result we can gather a great deal of information about our surroundings that is normally invisible to the eye.     Grey scale imaging is so clean you can even read the label on this component.

Color analysis is provided by SPI exclusive Fusion IR infrared camera analysis software package.   Simple and effective electrical inspections can be carried out with the 5100 package.  It is very easy to see which component is hot!!  Grey scale imaging is preferred by most thermographers in the field because it gives you a much clearer image of the scene.  You can easily tell what you are looking at in the grey scale image above.  The color image below is much harder to decipher.  Most of the time color is for the customer and grey scale is for the professional.  This is why we created a powerful analysis tool called Fusion IR Color that lets you prepare your high definition grey scale images for presentation to your customers.
